Review Snippets.

"Akon - one of the increasingly rare breed of artists who writes and produces his own material. Listening to his impressive debut CD, Trouble, it's hard to imagine that he once disliked hip-hop. Over time he grew to embrace hip-hop and it shows." - BlogCritics.org

"This album is a is a soulful, laid back journey into the world of brooding r’n’b. There’s a strong Jamaican influence there as well and the essence of the album is to uplift, gain positivity in difficult situations and provides a message learnt through life. Akon has a lot of soul and sings like a man who has experienced pain and happiness." - ContactMusic.com

"Akon’s debut is not just an album, it’s a masterpiece. The theme throughout ‘Trouble’ evolves from Akon’s past struggles, what he’s done and what he is doing to correct those things. The distinction of his tracks reveal Akon for the genius he really is. Each track has its own special quality and is written and produced to a high standard." - TheSituation.co.uk
